It’s
already the end of September and Fall has begun to settle in around us like it
effortlessly does every year. While the beautiful days of summer seem to have
come and gone entirely too quickly, a part of me is oddly excited for the
months to come. You see, Fall, in a small way, represents the closing of one
chapter and the beginning of the next for me. I’ve been trying my best to wake
up each day and embrace it for everything its worth, and that means embracing
change. What better way to symbolize that than looking at the current season
with a new perspective? One might look at a tree with dying leaves and simply
think nothing of it, but if you look closer you’ll realize just how beautiful
that change is. The auburn leaves fall, leaving a bare tree that is forced to
regrow and evolve that coming Spring. This is what I want to do, this is what I
need to do; evolve. Over the past year I’ve really come to realize how
valuable our time is and I have no intentions of wasting any of the time that
I’m lucky enough to get. With courage, a bit of nerves and a little nudge from
some of the most inspiring people, I chose this perspective. Now my question
for you is, will you choose this perspective too?
“But then fall comes, kicking
summer out on its treacherous ass as it always does one day sometime after the
midpoint of September, it stays awhile like an old friend that you have missed.
It settles in the way an old friend will settle into your favorite chair and
take out his pipe and light it and then fill the afternoon with stories of
places he has been and things he has done since last he saw you.”
