New year, new plane ticket + a bit of holiday sparkle
We’re only twelve days into the new year and I am just now catching my breath from a whirlwind
adventure during the holidays and a vacation that ended far too soon. Christmas came and went, with an evening at
Longwood Gardens and more food than I could ever imagine. The 26th I
held my 8th Annual Christmas Dinner (a beautiful mess per usual) and
then New Year’s Eve was spent with some of my favorite lil babes in
Lancaster.
On January 2ND
me and a few others caught a flight to San Juan then made the road trip to our
little house in Rincon for a week in the sun (seems like we left just in time
since temps dropped pretty quick back home). The week was full of adventure
with trips to Gulligan’s Island (the cutest little island you’ll ever see),
different beaches, art walks, markets, snorkeling, horseback riding and the best rum punch you'd ever taste. Each day was full of
belly ache laughs and injuries that were minor in nature but added to our
story. Waves were calm for the majority of our trip but by the end of the week
(specifically Thursday) where the waves were 10+ ft and rough. That day we
watched 4 saves and nearly all the beaches were empty. That same day a wave
claimed my camera but thankfully the memory card still works (or else this post
would be really just a jumble of words).

This trip was the perfect way to start a new year and I honestly couldn't have asked to experience it with a better group of people. This all had me thinking about how trips like these are so good for the soul and how so many people deserve a good break but never take one for themselves. I know trips are expensive, but
they don’t have to be. Day trips, camping or just a bit of Internet trolling and a bit of
luck & you can have the time of your life. Don’t forget that, because too
many do and by the time they realize they’re stuck too much time has passed. Get
out. Stay out. Enjoy things while you can.
xx
