Escaping into the Pages
Reading has always been one of my favorite things. There is honestly nothing better than sitting on the beach and reading until the sun goes down (its my version of a perfect evening). I think it was Poppop's love and appreciation for books that sparked my interest. He taught me at a young age to appreciate writers and their work. For me there is something so soothing about falling in love with a character and finding more about their story withe every turn of a page. I find myself rooting for the underdog, analyzing why they made their choices and wondering if I would have done the same thing if this had been my story.
I have a habit of "dog-earing" pages to come back to and re-read just because I love them so much. When ever I chose to reread the books its always interesting to see what stood out to me before and it almost brings me back to whatever I was going through when I originally chose to mark the page. Recently I decided I needed a better way of keeping track of these snippets and quotes so I decided to start writing them all down. I started carrying a small journal around and anytime I read something interesting or enlightening I whip it out and jot it down. I even broadened this to include things that people around me say too. My goal is to open this "journal", if you will, and be able to go back to a moment or a feeling.
Try it, maybe you'll find it interesting too.

1. And I Don't Want To Live This Life- Deborah Spungen
2. Wild- Cheryl Strayed
3. Tiny Beautiful Things- Cheryl Strayed
4. Looking for Alaska- John Green
Such a nice idea! I have separate wall on Pinterest for all quotes, but writing everything down, sounds way more exciting!
